Senior Executive Director of Building Services Announcement
Scott Chehak has been named MMSD’s Senior Executive Director of Building Services, effective September 23, 2024.
An organized leader known for managing turnaround projects, Chehak has more than 25 years of experience in operations, supply chain, mechanical systems and sustainability initiatives. He spent most of his career with food manufacturing companies like Birds Eye and Del Monte. He is well-versed in managing multi-million dollar budgets, negotiating high-level contracts and has strong communication and team development skills.
For the past five years, Chehak has served as chief operating officer of Natural Food Group-Atlantic Frozen Foods, where he led the startup of a manufacturing facility and established a global supply chain. Previously, he was vice president/general manager of SJI, Arrowhead Systems, overseeing planning, forecasting, engineering, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing and facility management functions. He has held other leadership positions in the food and beverage industry, and is an industry consultant.
Chehak earned his bachelor’s degree in bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his master of business administration from the University of Phoenix. He also holds industry credentials and has completed additional courses in leadership development.
Chehak is an MMSD alumni who attended Sennett Middle School and graduated from La Follette High School. He and his wife, Sarah, have five kids in their blended family, with their youngest a junior in high school. Chehak recently served as Kennedy Little League's operations director and volunteers on an industry committee. He is excited about the opportunity to impact the MMSD community in his new role positively.
